Our Team

Paulette Doiron is a family physician who enjoys developing relationships with patients and empowering them to take charge of their own health. She approaches care in a holistic manner; treating each patient as an individual and not as a condition. She uses experience and tools from Integrative Medicine and Lifestyle medicine and has a special interest in group visits and food as medicine. She has 8 years of experience in family medicine; while offering prenatal care including deliveries, c-sections and newborn care.

Patients often stop medications due to side effects/cost, but do not always have the education/tools to improve their chronic disease or prevent illness. Time constraints in a typical practice model do not allow room for in-depth discussions to counsel patients. More time with patients allows time to get to know their values or personal goals. She believes that direct primary care is an excellent avenue to delivery meaningful healthcare on a more personal level and is very excited for a new venture in her career at Lantern Health.

Originally native to Louisiana, she now calls Asheville her home. She spent a year abroad in France prior to entering medical school. She attended LSU School of Medicine, completed residency at MAHEC Family Medicine and a fellowship in Maternal Child Health at MAHEC, both in Asheville. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, cooking, mountain biking, yoga and spending time with family.
